Some first impressions: weather is bretty gud, warm and sunny. There are many beautiful people here, many barely clothed couples. To reach my apartment I had to take a walk through the old city quarters of Prague, which are very beautiful. There seems to be a quite large historical part of the city to be intact. I already found some church and another old looking building that stretches itself wide. I don’t know what it is, but maybe Bernd can help. It has two wings, which both have large paintings, but I didn’t take a photo of them yet.
For the beginning I exchanged 50€ to CZK. Just in case I encounter something where I can’t pay by card. I’m still unsure about my further plans for today, whether I will rest a bit, then just go to dinner later or whether I should go look at Vysehrad and take a tour or something. First, I had to charge my phone, so I can keep using it as a navigation device.

Actually i've been thinking jpeging all the images by default, really that 5 mb pic can be 1mb at most withous sacrificing much.

Then implement removing EXIF data by default as well.

One week.

How is that related to my thread?

So, report of day 1. I walked to Vyšehrad and was kinda disappointed, I expected something totally different, a real fortress, but what I found instead was rather ruins of a fortress, some walls, some underground tunnels and that’s it. Try googling Vyšehrad and the image you get is the church that’s basically on the grounds of the fortress, if I understood correctly, but obviously not the fortress itself. I already mentioned the underground tunnels, casemats, that’s what I booked the tour for. And that tour was even more disappointing, the majority of what the tour leader said I couldn’t understand, because her English was kinda bad and she wasn’t loud enough and she didn’t say much at all. First we watched some cringe ass film about a glass artist that made some sculptures for Vyšehrad, then she led us into the tunnels, she said a couple of words and we went into the Gorlice room, basically a room full of old sculptures of Christian saints and such. In between the sculptures there were glass sculptures. And that was it. That was the whole tour, which only lasted about half an hour. Luckily I only paid 100 CZK for that, but still.
My disappointment didn’t last long though, because afterwards after resting on a park bench for a while I went to the restaurant that Slovborg recommended (Kozlovna Apropros). And wow, what an experience I had there. I was immediately seated, ordered some cold beer (truly the best on a hot summer day) and Czech goulash, both were served immediately as well and it was delicious. Staff was also very nice. My only criticism would be that it was a bit more expensive than usual in Prague, I guess (at least what I could gather from looking at menus online). But still, if you think about it, I paid 20€ for a meal and 0,75l of cold beer (tip included). Much cheaper than in Germany. So thanks Slovborg for the recommendation, tomorrow I will probably try the other restaurant you mentioned.

Tomorrow I will go shooting (AK-47, Glock 17, AR-15, Sniper Dragunov, Shotgun Pump) at a shooting range, which I’m already excited for. Then maybe to the National Museum. And later than evening I’m gonna watch “A Clockwork Orange” in cinema.

Can you take some pictures of the people you see? Architecture and landscapes are cool for sure, but seeing real "street scenes" of people going about their day is much more uncommon, whereas pictures of buildings can mostly be seen on wikipedia and such.
GermanyBernd2023-07-23 17:21:35 · 3yNo. 280164reply
It would be a bit weird to just take pictures of random people and you have to keep in mind that I mostly am at places where there are many tourists, so I guess it wouldn’t reflect Prague accurately.
United StatesBernd2023-07-23 17:24:52 · 3yNo. 280165reply
To get around the awkwardness, one can take pictures of a point of interest in the background, with the people in the foreground. Doing this allows you to take pictures of people unquestioned..

And tourists form the streetscape too. Pictures of them would still be an accurate representation of what it's like to walk around where you're walking around.

I see, what you’re doing there, Coomer Bernd. You want to see all the hotties, stacies and Czech beauties that roam the cities of Prague barely clothed.

It's fine like this, I am okay with being seen as murrican. At least people won't think I'm a pedo now anymore.
I was just wondering whether bernd.group was one of those NSA bootlicker """ anonymous""" imageboards like KC or if it is actually respecting its users freedom. Glad it is on the good side, guess I found a new home now.

sorry for derailing the thread, I didn't know Czech Republic had more liberal gun lawas than other European countries apparently.
As for things you can do I recommend destroying some beers in the evening and then doing nightwalk around crowded areas, I always like to do that in cities where I feel safe enough, almost always something interesting happens that I can witness in my gondola-like observing state.
