Serial Experiments Lain

Did you unironically like this one? I tried to watch it some years ago, and I understand why people would like that aesthetic, but the story is so confusing, it wasn't really enjoyable for me. Had a similar experience with Boogiepop Phantom recently.

I mean, I watched it back in 2008 and I remember enjoying it; but that is literally the only anime I have ever seen so it's not like I'm a connoisseur

Lain is a great anime, but it requires the appropriate mood. Also it really is confusing but don't let that stop you from enjoying it. Let's all love Lain.

Idk, I just feel that way. Lain delivers some interesting ideas about reality and our perception of it, and does it quite stylish.

Anyway, I have watched hundreds of anime shows and very few imprinted so vividly in my memory (maybe dozen or so)

It entirely depends on your tastes. I can shotgun a dozen or two, or you can say what you're looking for. Slice of life to shounen to seinen to comedy, etc.

Satoshi Kon's movies are great at least. Is Paranoia Agent complex and hard to get?

Perfect Blue, Paprika, Millennium Actress, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. They are all movies made in 2000-2010, except Perfect Blue. Paranoia agent isn’t that confusing… once you’ve seen the ending.

I watched "Perfect Blue" and "Millennium Actress" of the ones you mentioned. I enjoyed them. What's your opinion on "Tokyo Godfathers"? I liked it as well.

Tokyo Godfathers was something I found completely out of the ordinary… or in this case surprisingly tame compared to the other movies Satoshi made. Satoshi was a story writer who focused on the psychological/abstract side of people and could tell a story off the topic. Tokyo godfather seemed entirely different, like it demonstrated the humanity side of Japan. Likewise, I loved the film and would totally recommend.

I guess, you could say that every homeless person represented a different aspect of human personality.

bps - battle programmer shinrase. very short and annoying romance with some too young relative but has this unique feeling about it.

 

e: i always wondered whether this is possible. grab the input from the keyboard with a single cable soldered to a pcb. doesn't this need at least 2 cables for electricity to flow? i'm too inexperienced in electrical tinkering to know whether this is possible.

All anime is bad, even the pretentious stuff. I recommend a good anime that doesn't take itself too serious like the classic Bo-bobo bo bobobo

I'd rather watch MinkyMomo, Chargeman Ken! And Golden Bat.

I like anime comedies as well. For example Gabriel Dropout.
