I got hungry on this late night and ate all the bacon that I meant to eat tomorrow morning

I will regret this dearly tomorrow when I have no bacon to eat
PolandBernd2023-04-22 08:34:18 · 3yNo. 267203reply
why do you guys love bacon so much
United StatesBernd2023-04-22 08:41:39 · 3yNo. 267205reply
It is salty and fatty tasty strips of meat, what's not to love? Also it got ridiculously expensive after gorona for a while, but has recently became more affordable again
PolandBernd2023-04-22 08:43:08 · 3yNo. 267207reply
I guess it's way too greasy for my taste
United StatesBernd2023-04-22 08:53:03 · 3yNo. 267210reply
Try a strip or two of of crispy bacon with a nice summer tomato and a bit of mayo in a sandwich sometime. The balance of acidity, texture and fattiness is perfection

okay, I'm going to try it, but if I end up hating it I'll hold you personally responsible

how do you even fit that in your mouth?

Don't make it for a instagram but one for actual eatening. BLTs compress rather well.

I just finished eating and it's not bad but I still don't see what the fuss is about

pics?
Sandwiches that don't leave a mess are good at best. But they are never great.

haven't taken any, didn't think anyone would want to see my sandwich

I guess I'm way too anal for messy food

I can show you a pretty flower that grew on my balcony

Please post pic of you, princess!
GermanyBernd2023-04-22 16:09:35 · 3yNo. 267253reply
That's a nice flower. How long does it look like this?

I tried to grow wheat sprouts last week. But I've let it grow too long and it just turned into a patch of grass.
PolandBernd2023-04-22 18:03:47 · 3yNo. 267271reply
no one's ever called me that UwU

depends, but from my experience a week if you cut it and put it in water, and up to a month if you leave it as is; this one stinks a bit (kind of equestrian smell) so I decided to cut it; hopefully other lilies I planted will smell better

what are you going to do with your newly acquired grass? have you tried any other sprouts?
GermanyBernd2023-04-22 18:32:59 · 3yNo. 267276reply
Light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. I love you.
GermanyBernd2023-04-22 19:21:41 · 3yNo. 267281reply
Will they survive through the winter or do you have to plant new ones every year? Does smell vary within the same species?

I'm currently looking into lawn mowers so I can properly care for my new piece of lawn of course.
I've tried everything from my starter set by now. Broccoli, peas, daikon, cress, red clover, wheat, mung beans, and radish.
United StatesBernd2023-04-23 08:02:10 · 3yNo. 267389reply
For me the lettuce is usually just an afterthought unless it's really fresh and crisp

It's better to not have lettuce at all than to have shitty lettuce just for the sake of making it a full BLT
GermanyBernd2023-04-23 08:06:21 · 3yNo. 267391reply
But it is easier to get fresh and crisp lettuce than to get tomatoes that don't just taste like water balls.
PolandBernd2023-04-23 13:26:56 · 3yNo. 267423reply
be careful, the fire in your loins could indicate an STI

lilies are perennial plants and they do just fine in our climate, I've actually planted some outside in my neighborhood's communal garden and so far they've bloomed every year even though I left them to do their own thing with no maintenance on my part

but for indoor planting I usually stop watering them after they've shed their blossoms, cut off the stems, dig out the bulbs from their pots and store them somewhere dark, dry and cold; I could plant them again them but I'm committed to finding the perfect lily so each year I buy different varieties I haven't tried out yet; which makes me a bulb hoarder at this point

I really do hope you'll be successful in your search for a tiny mower, because if you let your tiny lawn grow undisturbed you're going to need a tiny harvester which might prove to be even more challenging to find

which sprouts did you like the best?
GermanyBernd2023-04-23 15:30:34 · 3yNo. 267460reply
Good idea actually. If I just wait long enough I can use my piece of land to grow my own crops and produce my own food. I hope I can find a tiny windmill to grind it into flour.

Radish is my favorite. It is fresh and crunchy. It separates easily from the seedpods. You can just add a little to a dish to get some crunch or add a lot and it will add its sharpness to the flavor.
Red clover was fun too. But similar to cress I'm not really sure what to do with it. It is just not substantial enough to be a major ingredient and then I don't know why I should bother making it myself.
What is your favorite sprout?
PolandBernd2023-04-23 16:55:16 · 3yNo. 267474reply
you should get tiny geese while you're at it, I wonder if they'd be as mental as the regular sized ones

do you ever add sprouts to hot dishes or do you stick with stuff like salads and sandwiches? because it seems to me like heat would make them loose their crunchiness

I like broccoli sprouts the most (and I remember you dislike it, which is suspicious because broccoli in any form is divine), but growing them is kind of tedious so I just buy them ready to eat; but now that the strawberry season has started sprouts have kind of fallen out of my meal plan
GermanyBernd2023-04-23 17:49:37 · 3yNo. 267481reply
I was thinking more towards tiny ostriches. Tiny chicken or duck eggs are most likely too small to eat. Tiny ostrich eggs however...

I do add sprouts to hot dishes but only after cooking to retain the freshness of the sprouts.
I have a hard time imagining substituting sprouts with strawberries tbh.
PolandBernd2023-04-23 19:46:50 · 3yNo. 267506reply
I like the way you think! but if we keep the resize ratio (your sprout tray vs a typical wheat field) consistent then I'm afraid an a tiny giant egg from a tiny giant bird wouldn't be bigger than a grain of sand; and even if you ate an entire tiny blue whale you still wouldn't feel satiated

that's because you don't simply substitute one thing, you substitute whole meals until a mere thought of strawberries makes you sick and you can't stand to look at them anymore; welcome to disordered eating, I guess
GermanyBernd2023-04-23 20:24:15 · 3yNo. 267514reply
Sounds rough. Don't you have trouble getting enough protein in if you eat so many strawberries?
PolandBernd2023-04-23 21:00:52 · 3yNo. 267516reply
actually it's not that bad now, it used to be way worse

I have no problem maintaining and building muscles so I guess it's fine, besides I still eat normal dinners + have that sickly sweet protein powder
GermanyBernd2023-04-24 17:05:10 · 3yNo. 267618reply
What happens if you chose not to eat strawberries?
Are you still drawn to eat them like some kind of strawberry addiction and you can't stop thinking about them?
PolandBernd2023-04-24 19:31:09 · 3yNo. 267637reply
nothing happens although I don't see why would I chose not to eat them; sometimes they're sold out but it's not the biggest tragedy

and it's not an addiction since they're not harmful
