Nigerian population figures are so doctored it's not even funny

Luckily we can use election results to as a proxy for actual figures apparently they aren't too adept at doctoring those

Both India and China is already following the exact population decline as all other countries that develop past a certain level. Only Africa today will grow with new people.

how do I know? The more important a state in nigeria, the more ridiculously high their population figure, and the lower the turnout whenever there's elections, implying electorate is actually smaller than reported

but even if you look at total number of registered voters, it is by ~10-15% lower than what you'd expect based on reported population pyramid structure and total population

all in all based on the last presidential elections in nigeria which were reportedly a heated race with few people who got polled before elections saying they're undecided, but total final tally was not much over 20M, and based on assumption that more politically prominent states cheat more on population reporting, I would estimate that real population of nigeria is close to 140M

This is true for literally any country (with elections) in the world. People tend to migrate to important places because, umgh, these places are important. And people in these places generally care less about the elections because they migrated there recently. I would rather believe that people who were counting votes 'accidentially' lost few millions of the politically incorrect ones...

Yes, but not over 60% which is the number you get if you assume total number of registered voters and population estimate are both legitimate. But even total number of registered voters seems too high, so you'd have to assume 75% of population is U18 to make the numbers make sense, which is quite evidently not the case.

That only needs 10 million (5+5 mil) mothers giving birth for 10 kids for 10 years. Considering they had way more fertile females, and those who were born in 2000, they could give birth their first baby in 2014 (or even earlier, they don't wait till they are 18+)... It's very much doable.
