Amerzon increased the minimum order value to get free shipping from 29 €to 39€.

I'm still 20 € short of that. How much do you have to order in your cunt to get free shipping from amerzon? Also recommend good products that I can order to get my free shipping.

Am I a brainlet if I don't really get art that much? I see some of its appeal and everything, I mean I get how someone could get into it, but something like getting lost in a picture I don't really get. What's even the difference between someone that appreciates such types of art and just someone who likes a picture for example online?
I mean, for example, I like stuff like sculptures, I think they're neat, but I don't get into their names or the people who made them or anything, I don't spend too long thinking about those things. And then there's people who are deep into modern art and are all into the entire scene, that I don't get at all.
GermanyBernd2023-04-08 19:42:40 · 3yNo. 264823reply
It is just like with music, or movies. If you spend enough time with it even you will eventually find a genre that you like. And you can spend loads of time researching techniques, history, how it is made, and everything around it. Or you can just enjoy to consume it. Or don't bother with it at all because you rather spend your time with other things.
DenmarkBernd2023-04-08 19:46:58 · 3yNo. 264824reply
It's just the entire idea about being cultured or whatever that means, like there's some people that put effort into getting into these things like they're important, I don't get it.
Anyone can appreciate art to an extent, there's nothing keeping a normal person from looking at a picture and appreciating it, but then there's appreciating art and there's getting deeper into it which is something I have a difficult time understanding the motives of. If it's really just the person that gets enjoyment from it or if the person is trying to be different in a way.
If it's something the person enjoys then that's something I understand, but it's not always just that it seems.
PolandBernd2023-04-08 20:16:26 · 3yNo. 264832reply
eh, I wouldn't say your tastes are crude, they're just different than mine and that's perfectly fine since art is meant to be enjoyed

well, some people are giant snobs who think being well-versed in so-called higher culture makes them superior; but there are also people who are genuinely interested in art and that's why it's important to them; it doesn't differ much from any other hobby (although it's a completely unpractical one) - like we have the woodworking Bernd who was recently marveling at how much engineering goes into designing connectors - are you a brainlet if you don't get it? of course not
DenmarkBernd2023-04-08 20:26:21 · 3yNo. 264834reply
How did you even get into it to the point of caring enough about different artists and such? I'm not saying you're a snob or anything, but there are some who are. Maybe it's not the best representation of someone who just likes art, but it bothers me sometimes.
Were you exposed to it growing up and always found it interesting? Did you search for it yourself and eventually got deeper into it over time?
My interest in sculptures could be considered something different from what people who enjoy paintings, I'd say it's more straight-forward and doesn't always leave that much room for interpretation by the person. I'm not deep into it but I think that taking something like different types of stones and then shaping it into something that looks very human to me seems like a pretty big achievement. There could be some people that ask questions such as what the artist wanted the person to express with the sculpture but I don't think it's the main thing, I'd say that it would be more about being able to depict a person as accurately as possible with as many details as possible. It's not always just that, of course, they're different from eachother but I think that it's more approachable to anyone instead of like a painting. Anyone can walk up to a sculpture and be impressed without being explained anything, and I like that idea.

Just go to a gallery or to a museum with paintings. Take your time to look at everyone of them and then try to decide if you like it or not and then try to come up with reasons what you like or dislike about them.

disclaimer: I'm no expert, I'm more of a "it looks pretty and I like the way it makes me feel" kind of art consumer

but to answer your question: my mom likes art so growing up there were always various painting hanging around the house; my parents also had a lot of art-related books, I especially remember those giant art history tomes that spanned from prehistoric to modern art and included reproductions or most famous pieces (I think it also had sculptures and architecture); I would go through those books as a kid and mark pages that struck my fancy; later on I just looked for more things by artists I liked and explored various styles and periods; but like I said, I wasn't really learning about art history or painting techniques and whatnot; well, I guess I do know some things about that too since for 3 years in high school I had a class literally called "cultural knowledge" but I don't really care about that, I'd rather treat art as something pretty to look at

and internet makes art easily accessible, so you don't even need books now

There are some people that haven't really been exposed to a lot of art growing up and really enjoy it after seeing it as adults, they look for it since it means a lot to them.
Do you think that if you didn't have parents who were into art that you'd still have liked it the way that you do right now? I'm wondering about what the difference might be between someone that could have it in them to enjoy it more than others and those that maybe don't as much, if it's part of who they are or if they have been influenced by things in their youth or maybe later.
PolandBernd2023-04-09 12:01:39 · 3yNo. 264948reply
that's more of a nature vs nurture kind of question; do you think the kind of person you become is dictated by hereditary or environmental factors? I'd say it's a mix of both, so even if I wasn't exposed to certain things growing up (e.g. art), I'd still find my way to realizing it's something I enjoy; but it is easier to find things you like if you're exposed to a variety of subjects
DenmarkBernd2023-04-09 14:29:54 · 3yNo. 264954reply
I just wonder what it means for someone like me that while I have been exposed to some art growing up I never really got that much into it like others may have and I'm thinking if it's just not part of me or something. Like, maybe I could decide to get into it and give it a chance, but I want it to be genuine and not doing it for other reasons.

No it doesn't taste like cheesecake at all. But it tastes different than most protein powders in a pleasant way. But still artificial and off. Most protein powder flavors I've tried just taste like mixtures of chocolate and vanilla with maybe some other very artificial tasting ingredient.
When I make ans shake at home I usually add banan and nuts and maybe some frozen fruits and in this mixture the strong sweetness of protein powders is beneficial.

I don't have it for the sole reason that whenever I order from amerzon they aggressively shove advertisements for prime including dark patterns into my face. I find this a bullshit move to be forced to look at ads when I already give them money. If it was a good product they wouldn't have to aggressively advertise it. Also I prefer to have few large orders in contrast to ordering often. I dislike it to constantly wait for packets. I'd rather have a small time frame were I get a lot and in this case it is free anyway.

I want to do more woodworking against. But I only can do it when the pensioners that live below me are not at home because of the noise. So my plan is to film their car which I can see from my window. So when it is not there I can look at the footage to see if both of them got into it. In this case they are both not at home and I can be as loud as I want to. I hope this works out.

I originally wanted to do this with my raspberry pi since I already have a camera for it but I never got around doing so. From my previous experiences fiddling around with motion detection libraries is just a pain in the ass anyway and it will go off all the time since I have to film the street. Also afaik I can configure this camera that it only films when there is motion anyway so it is not that much different.
Also I will most probably only do this between friday and saturday, since they usually don't leave the house on sunday but are often away at satruday in the morning. It is just something I want to try and see if it works. I won't put huge amounts of effort into this.
