I thought you were a codegarch. Why do you have to deal with other companies and customers all the time?

when I first started I wanted to be nice so I helped the head of another department with some hardware issues, he asked for my help again, I refused since it's not in my job description, and he got so mad that it was scary

 

apparently they need more people to do systems design and a part of that is cooperating with subcontractors and clients (it was actually in the job ad, I'm just surprised it's like 50% of my work now)

In my experience overperforming is rarely worth it.

Superiors either don't notice it or will just take it for granted. Success/promotions in the job either require you to be at the right place at the right time or to be buddies with your superiors.

You could use that excess energy and drive to get a gf and have sex instead of wasting it on some meaningless job
