I never understood the beds of pickup trucks. You have way more hassle to secure your load and you can't keep anything in there since it's exposed to the elements.

A simple transporter is way more versatile and I doubt that people transport stuff very often that would not fit into an transporter. Also you can sleep in it if you want to.

A bed might have advantages if you want to fill it up with loose materials with an excavator or something like that. But how many people have to do that? Ridiculous.

depends on what you're transporting.

if you're a farmer you will more often be transporting stuff that you can keep out in the open and yes that includes loose materials quite often

even here where we don't use such transport vehicles farmers often use those open single axle trailers for their shit

I think people are just envious because these trucks are not cheap (at least here in Peru) and they use a lot of gas so you must have some degree of money to own one. Sounds like plebs seething.
