Went to ikea today for the first time in my life.

It was an interesting experience. It felt like a museum that exhibits cheap furniture. Didn't do much to me but I can see why females might enjoy this.
They put the same 4 or 5 ikea items in all rooms for decoration. Not a single empty space without some empty glas container or empty ikea vase. This makes everything look really untidy and unappealing to me.
I found it interesting that there is only a single lane that guides you through the whole shoppe. Which makes it a pain if you decide to go back to buy something and then have to walk several minutes against a stream of people to get back to the item. Still I wonder why not more stores do this kind of stuff tbh.

What is your experience and opinion on Ikea?

I guess they tried to give you a feeling of how that would look in your place (for most people who aren't obsessed with tidying)
>there is only a single lane that guides you
There're shortcuts btw, sometimes it's just hard to find them

I saw those doors. But I didn't knew if they would lead me forward or back since I lost my sense of direction after following all the twists and turns of the main lane.

I don't know a single German who never visited Ikea
GermanyBernd2023-02-11 17:14:13 · 3yNo. 253988reply
Well I visited today and you don't know me. But I can see how this applies to normies.
I built all of my furniture myself so I never had to go there. Also Ikea's are usually somewhere in bumfuckistan and I didn't own ans car for most of my life.

Did you get one of those ultra-cheap hotdogs?
They're not that bad.
GermanyBernd2023-02-12 08:46:21 · 3yNo. 254168reply
No. I didn't buy anything. The counter for the hotdogs was too crowded for me and I was happy to get out against.
Originally I wanted to buy some of these glass containers because they don't deliver these when you order online but eventually decided that I rather want something out of stainless steel that can't break on me.

can't you order online and pick them up at their warehouse? that's what I do to avoid crowds
GermanyBernd2023-02-12 10:19:41 · 3yNo. 254173reply
I can. But I only learned that there was ans ikea in the region last week. I ordered the other stuff I wanted online last monday. It still hasn't arrived.

What are good ikea items?
I think the stainless steel food containers appear really decent and the stainless steel bowls.
I also ordered some small items like a whisk, garlic press, and some spatulas there. But I don't know about the quality.

This is a good Ikea item in my opinion.

Did you ever have a pressed CD go bad on your due to old age?
GermanyBernd2023-02-12 13:50:16 · 3yNo. 254193reply
No, that only happens, if you treat them badly (like scratching them). I've seen a few CDs owned by my parents which aren't playable anymore, because they're dirty and full of scratches, also some CDs from the library. But the ones I bought and own myself are kept in pristine condition. I always keep them in their jewel cases or digipaks, take them out once to rip them and then put them back, so there's not much chance to break them.
