Cities are always shit, are there no cozy rural regions in France?

I've got family in France.

 

It is a very beautiful place.

Paris is crowded tremendously but everywhere else is a lot of free space for nature.

 

The streets of France on the countryside are incredibly well maintained and you can easily get to many places that still have wild nature, which is not a thing in Germany anymore.

I'd love to live in one of those small towns in the french alps. Southern germany also looks cozy from what i saw in photos.
