When I was a bus driver we had to earn seniority to avoid working avoid working on weekends and holidays. Office wagies think the world revolves around them like "oh jeez it's Friday thank God for the weekend where none of us have to work xD"

 

But you all expect public transportation and other services to work on your days off without even thinking of us

Honestly it paid pretty well and was an interesting chapter of my life and I might still be doing it if I didn't have that psychotic episode plus other health problems

I wouldn’t want to deal with all the scum and psychos who use public transportation, at least in big cities. Being a bus driver in a small town might be quite comfy.

Working on Fridays after lunch is the best, nobody bothers you with questions, you can rock in the chair, make plans, maybe clean the mouse after a sweaty week. Pretty good.

You have said almost the same thing that I thought, if they work their agreed hours, I don't know if most of them work overtime, but if they are disciplined, and already comparing yourself to the fact that you work more than your neighbors in Spain or Greece is a great advance in my opinion

In Japan, I understand that working hours have decreased by law, since there was a lot of social problem with that, the problem they have now is that they don't usually take vacations regularly, and they usually stay up very late chatting with the boss or the coworkers as if they were a "family"

I tried to find friends when I was a teenager, not because it was something I wanted but because everyone else had a group of friends and I didn't want to feel different; I reached the point where I don't care that I'm a loner and a weirdo and I feel comfortable with being who I am; but I guess it does sound like a cope especially since you don't know me

How? I have no connections, no starting point. At this point I'm literally cold approaching locals to be friends with me.

I don't think a steppenwolf can give you tips for finding friends. I found "friends" in school, in clubs and online games even.

If you are that type of Bernd that didn't make frens in uni/school you usually won't make them at work either.

For me I think being around and interacting with people at work decreased my social anxiety by a lot and I think it made me less weird. Also it satisfies all my desire to be social and makes me feel more comfortable when I'm all alone in the evening and on the weekends against. So I think I would be way more depressed without work.

Good point, you only have to get the minimum of human interaction to stay healthy (aka not get depressed) and then you can spend the rest of your time alone enjoying the things you do.
