I like going outside and walking aimlessly. I like just going up and down random streets and seeing the houses and apartments. I never intend to go anywhere in particular. I've always been obsessed with "spaces" and how being in different places influences you. By places I mean very mundane things.

Btw, you have never truly dined until you experience Taiwan cuisine and see the shit they write in Engrish on their menus.
Can I interest you in some "intestinal stench tofu" or some "delightful burned chicken ass" (both real menu items I've seen today)

Let me guess: conero, provinciano or serrano? You reek of social resentment.

Lima is a beautiful city if you don’t live in the slums, I mean look at that picture. Of course, the periphery sucks because it is full of uncivilized invaders but that happens everywhere in Latín America.

The countryside is far worse, there is a reason why people migrate to the cities

The countryside here is beautiful, I have gone to the countryside multiple times and I fell in love with the beautiful landscapes, the nice people and the fresh air you can breathe. In Montevideo everything looks so ugly, the people treat you like shit and the air is toxic to breath.
The countryside here is right-wing, traditional and conservative while Montevideo is a commie libtard toxic wasteland that must be nuked from the face of earth. Literally people migrate from Montevideo to the countryside because Montevideo is such a piece of shit.

I used to do a lot of hiking in my free time for several years.
Last summer I went for an 90km hike over a couple of days. Since then I lost all my motivation to hike anymore. Tried several times but I'm just not into it anymore. It does not help that I've already walked most of the interesting trails that are within 1h of driving distance from here. So I'm back at sitting around all the time.

GermanyBernd2022-12-28 14:49:44 · 4yNo. 245633reply
I don't really enjoy cycling. I had to use my bike as my prime means of transportation for most of my life. I cycled 1h every day during the week to get to and from work for several years. In my head a bike is something for transport and not for enjoyment. I bought my first car ~15 months ago and since then I never used my bike again.
Also I dislike cycling against the wind or in the rain or on country roads while cars overtake you with 100km/h.

Perhaps there, here geography is complex. The place with the best people (coast) has the worst nature, basically desert and desert hills. The good places in the coast are the beaches and the valleys.
The highlands has awesome nature, beautiful valleys, beautiful lakes, but the weather gets awful in certain seasons and you can get landslide. Also if you go too high to the puna geography sucks. The people suck, they are indomestizos that believe that are pure blooded Amerindians, they are leftists, hate people that are different than them (not so brown), are ignorant, xenophobic, they have low intelligence and are resentful (like the other Peruvian in this thread). Also they get used by corrupt leftist politicians and after that they chimp out and blame the capital city. In terms of human capital they are the lowest (in Spanish we would say lastre).

East geography sucks if you are in the Amazonia (selva baja), soil too acid, too much trees, too much insects, too much humidity. Mountain jungle is beautiful. People from mountain jungle are usually ok except that there is a lot of narcotraffic going on there on some places. People from the Amazonia are friendly and they speak with a funny accent.

With that being said, every place here has beautiful landscapes and although I like spending some time in the countryside it gets boring quickly, those stimulus vanish after some time. And people from the countryside migrate because the opportunities are scarce, places are boring, people just leave and the quality of life is extremely bad. Funny how the provinciano (other Peruvian) shared a link of how Lima is a bad place to live because despite that it is the best place to live in Peru (that’s why people from outside keep coming here) and beats all other places in almost every indicator except quality of the air, traffic and thievery. You mentioned ideologies, here sadly as being the capital and biggest city this is our port to the “West” so here you will find those degenerates that you mentioned but here most limeños are conservative actually.
PeruBernd2022-12-28 17:38:16 · 4yNo. 245657reply
>We are cuckservative!!
Fake. You all love transgender and queer shit. Limeños were gay before even the woke liberal ideology reached Lima. Only conservative aspect you have is racism.
Meanwhile true chad Amerindians are conservative, rural, and have a kinda blood and soil mentality which makes them more warriorlike unlike Limeños. Hence you can see why the "serranos" are fighting to death for opportunities and power in the last days since Castillo was the noble hero dispossessed by the White limeños BZC (big zambo cuck) lovers.

I converted my bike into an ebike.
It made biking even less fun because you let the motor do all the work for you and your are stuck with basically waiting on your bike until you've reached your destination. And the additional weight makes the bike way less agile. Also they are capped at 25km/h so you can't even drive so fast that this makes it fun.

While hiking I always get annoyed by the groups of boomers that speed through the forest on max speed of their ebike.
NetherlandsBernd2022-12-28 20:48:49 · 4yNo. 245693reply
> you let the motor do all the work
But you don't have to. All the modern e-bikes have different degrees of support, you can still put the same effort but go faster and ignore wind and uphills with it. And the speed limiter can be scrapped if you want to.

As for forests and other nature reserves, ideally there should be different trails for hikers and cyclists (if not you should be annoyed by their administration for the bad planning instead).
GermanyBernd2022-12-28 20:56:13 · 4yNo. 245694reply
>different degrees of support
When I started I didn't go full blast all the time. But I gradually increased the support and used my legs less and less and eventually just went wit max all the time. I wonder how many people don't use the max setting at all times. I doubt it is more than 10% of all ebike users.

>speed limiter can be scrapped if you
I have to abide to the rules. I'm german after all. Also I figure that the only contact I would ever get to the police in my life would be if I get into a traffic accident even if it is not my fault. And in this case I think it is a pretty bad idea to drive on a essentially illegal vehicle.

It's meaningless on roads with heavy bike traffic and there's a lot of such roads in the Netherlands, but I got your point.

Anyway, even with full support there's still considerable work for your legs, after 6h riding e-bike you feel as tired as after 2h common cycling while getting much further and seeing much more.
