Aggressively behaving dogs cause fear in Haukiputaa near Oulu.
The woman who contacted Iltalehti says that people have to fear for their lives.
- When you go out here, you have to take a longer hand with you. Dogs have shown aggression towards several people. They may come in a herd with teeth grinning, the woman describes.
- The elderly don't dare to go to the mailbox, and jogging with your own pet is terrible. They had tried to grab a smaller dog from the lap of one of the owners, the woman tells the villagers' feelings.
The rooster died
Other animals have already fallen victim to the pack of dogs. The rooster of the woman interviewed by Iltalehti named Pärssinen got into the dogs' mouths on September 11. The woman's chicken also got into the dogs' teeth.
- More than 20 stitches had to be put on it when all the internal organs were visible, the woman says.
- I received a 300 euro vet bill. It should be paid for from a small pension.
The neighbor's cats have also been found mauled.
No ban on keeping animals
The police confirmed to Ilta-Sanom that a man living in Haukiputaa in the Martinniemi settlement keeps eight large dogs in a weak enclosure in the backyard of his detached house.
- There are eight large dogs, including a husky, a laika and a bullmastiff. They easily jump over that fence to freedom, crime police constable Markku Apell from Haukiputaa police tells Ilta-Sanom.
According to Apelli, the local veterinarian has examined the dogs and their enclosure. The fence is weak in its purpose, but since the man does not do business with dogs, but dogs are a hobby for him, he cannot be banned from keeping animals.
The rooster protected other animals
The woman who owned Kukko-Pärssisen hopes that Pärssisen's fate will lead to measures.
- I hope that something will really be done about it. Didn't Pärssinen give his life in vain, bravely protecting other domestic animals in the yard?
