I met a woman this year in whose company I did not feel lonely and I didn't appreciate her enough, so she left. What now? Was this my only chance in this life? She was my first real GF and I feel like life should give me another chance with her or a woman who is similarly wonderful... Bernd to boyfriend is not an easy transition after all.

I also met a girl this summer during my internship at the hospital. She is in love with me and I was also crazy about her. I have never seen such a nice and teasing girl with me. The problem is that I am ignoring her by text message because I do not want to put myself in a relationship with her. I ignore her by message or else I'm mean because I would like to make her understand that I have to take my time. She's going to go to medical school and I'm going to redo my second year of medicine and I don't have the right to miss it under pain of being expelled from the faculty. I'm in love but I have to work :( I feel so bad. I wish I met her one year later... Now she is going to forget me or she will think I am an asshole

I am 21 and she is 20. She will forget me and meet a better guy. I just hope she doesn't sulk too much next year when we will meet in the halls.

I put my studies before the girls but I hurt myself and her too. It is what it is. She came at the wrong time in my life.

Yesterday she asked me how I felt the last time we saw each other and I replied: "Nothing special." It broke my heart to have to answer that.

I want to tell you that you're an idiot for doing this to yourself but you probably deserve it for even thinking this is the correct way to handle it

She's hugged me, she's asked her friend to take a picture of us two, she said that she liked me and when I sent her a short video of how I fixed a broken mandoline I got a 1m voice message back of her basically saying how much she likes mandolines. Later she proposed to do a duet of accordion + mandoline.

This thread makes me very sad. Before this thread there were many lonely Bernds, I felt real empathy and companionship with them (especially with the Swiss one, because we're around the same age). But eventually even the biggest Bernds grow up and get themselves a gf. Slovborg and me are left behind, gf-less.

I don't have any plans, I gave up and accepted it some time ago.

I mean, if you lose a limb you don't spend your whole life hoping one day it will regrow, you just accept the fact you are not a fully functional human being and some parts of human life you'll never experience and live on.

When they tell you it's happening when you least expect it, they're right. But it also happens when you don't want/can't. I'm still with you Bernd. Even if I admit that it is good for the ego to know that a girl is in love with me.
