It's been almost a week now since I decided to turn neovim into an IDE-like editor and I am still not done. Granted, I am a lazy pig, but reading all those (plugin) documentations and getting a grip on what Treesitter or an LSP server is...I always knew it would take me some time and therefore avoided it for quite a while, but I didn't think it would take me that long.
Maybe I am 60% or done or something.

Vim bros, where are you?

I'm a Katebro https://kate-editor.org/ Kate has all what I need, including autocompleting, syntax highlighting and even an LSP plugin.

I haven't read that name for quite some time. Wasn't it the default text editor for KDE? Is it still? Seems to be way more capable than I remember it.

I will check it out. Another interesting project I came across recently was https://helix-editor.com, but haven't tried it yet

Yes, it was. And that was still the case until not long ago. But it was replaced with KWrite, which is a simpler text editor.
