Why do people put so much emphasis on Mexico when it comes to illegal activities and crimes?
Literally the only reason why Mexico is a center for organized crime and drug dealing is due to its location in the world, bordering the US, making it the prime location for drugs to spread out towards the US. It's not even like Mexicans are more violent or more prone to drug dealing, it's literally all due to its geographic location which makes it much easier for drug dealers to smuggle drugs into the US and get money for it. So, again, why the exclusive association with Mexico and criminal activities, when arguably most of Latin America also have the same problems with crime? If you think about it, if countries south of the border, countries that produce the drugs that are smuggled into the US through Mexico, didn't exist, then Mexico wouldn't have had the bad reputation it currently has with drug smuggling. They don't even create the drugs, they're only responsible for moving the drugs, and that is the main reason why they have the reputation of a violent criminal country. It's not that Mexicans are more likely to commit crimes than other Latin Americans, it's literally all due to its place in the world, Mexicans aren't worse than the other Latin Americans, they're the same.
