Back in the 19th century or something, there was an idea that Finns are Asian. It was just some racist bullshit that was common back then. That same trope has been used as a meme on the internet for a long time, originally probably to tease Finns. Then we embraced the meme. Kinda similar to how Ukrainians embraced the Russian meme of calling Ukrainians pigs. Nobody actually thinks we are Asian.
