Coworker brought cake to work last week.
Cake with a lot of cream and due to it being tasty I eated a whole bunch of it.
But me idiot forgot to eat one lactase tablet that I stashed at wörk for exact that reason and now I am back to being riddled with acne all over.

Feels like age 15 all over again.
I wish I would have known to leave out lactose back then.

Are you an Asian?

No!
But another added benefit of ans irregular gf would be that she too would steer clear of lactose.

Also I found out that recently me mother regularly lied to me when she brought cake or invited me for food and claimed that she used lactose free products, while I was left wondering what triggered my acne again.

I can confidently say that acne destroyed all my self-confidence in my appearance and a part of my life.

seems like not all your confidence is gone

Sames during my early youth.
Then I tried a lot of shieet like antibiotics or Isotretin (unhealthily highly dosed vit A) and it worked temporarily.
Now I stick to a regiment of zink, vit A drops in milk sometimes and lactose free products and my skin is perfectly fine.

At least up until shortly... Seems like going out for a drink this weekend is off the table boys, I can't cope with those few spots on my face, one might even be such a penetrant deep one, that only heals over weeks.

>self-confidence in my appearance

Took Aknenormin for half a year and my acne basically vanished. After I stopped taking it it reappeared, but wasn't so severe anymore. Since then the grade of severity varies.

Sounds more like milk protein allergy than lactose intolerance to me

t. lactose intolerant
t. knower of casein allergic person

>Also I found out that recently me mother regularly lied to me when she brought cake or invited me for food and claimed that she used lactose free products, while I was left wondering what triggered my acne again.
Probably because lactose intolerance is wrong diagnosis.
Delactosed cow milk products will still contain bovine casein and/or whey which is what you're in fact allergic to

But how do you explain that milk consumption is of no worries as long as I buy lactose free milk?
I don't get stomach aches or shittenings from regular milk either, it just worsens my skin over the next week after lactose consumption.

Whey protein powder or protein bars are of no issue either and when I pop a lactase pill to externally supply my body with that enzyme, regular milk also won't give me acne.

You are a non Fren and may stand with my former bullies then.
None of them managed to start a happy life.

Intredasting.
What happens if you drink goat milk?
AustriaBernd2022-06-13 12:10:09 · 4yNo. 169392reply
I have not tried that yet, as it isn't a staple here, just sheep cheese sometimes, but cheese of any kind being fermented also goes without issue.

i dont want to be frends with some whiny pizzaface that thinks his mother is lying to him. i would probably bully you irl. stop eating shit and your body will heal in time instead of trying to fix it with some pills after you have poisoned your body

omg, online bullying. so mean!
SloveniaBernd2022-06-13 12:25:20 · 4yNo. 169396reply
Odd
So I guess you got both casein and whey covered as OK

still this doesn't sound like regular lactose intolerance
one theoretical option is you're allergic to something bacteria in your gut produce when digesting lactose
AustriaBernd2022-06-13 17:38:24 · 4yNo. 169557reply
Yeah, it sure isn't regular lactose intolerance, dunno myself, it just gives me acne like mad.
Your theory might have merit tho, but the doc I consulted for that just brushed it off that there can't be any correlation and came up with the regular treatments instead.
Meanwhile you can give me half a kilo of regular quark and I can reproduce that effect within one night of sleep, that's literally how I found out about it and tried again at a later point after staying clear of all lactose products for some time.
