From October 2020 to now, I've lost about 90 lbs / 36.28kg, but I've been stuck between 319-325 lbs / 145-148 kg for the past three weeks. According to the readings on this Precor machine, I'm burning anywhere between 4500-7000 calories on the maximum incline (level 15) per session, depending on the length / intensity of my walk. I burn anywhere between 25k-30k calories per week, walking a total between 50-60 miles. Just this week, I burned 28k calories.
At my lowest, I was at 319 lbs, but went on vacation for about 4 days. Obviously, my weight went up, but was surprised to learn it was only a decimal point up. Then, after two weeks burning 54k in cardio, I somehow went up 5 lbs. According to Noom, I was saving between 700-800 calories a day. How is that possible?
Is this machine lying to me when it tells me I burned around 1500 calories after an hour of walking on the maximum incline? Is it possible to burn that many calories from walking on the maximum incline (level 15) at 3.2 mph? Am I not burning as much as I think I'm burning or am I gaining water weight? After all, it's the summertime.
How many calories do you save to lose weight?
