Whenever R*ssia as a state loses a war, R*ssoid peasants actually win as people. My explanation:
Crimean war led to abolition of slavery (LMAO the ONLY two places on the planet where people of the same race would sell each other into slavery by the 19th century were Russia and Africa just imagine)
Russo-Japanese led to revolution and big advancements in terms of democracy
WWI brought the next gigarevolution with communism (biggest win in history)
Soviet Union isn't Russia so Soviet losses don't count, Afghanistan didn't make things better and winning WW2 was gud (except for having to wait until stalin dies and gets replaced by an actual socialist), though somehow even losing the winter war was a big win considering that forcing Finns to become "sorta allies" while still letting them stay with the wect was also a victory in the long run
