additional info: we had massive wood surpluses about 10 years ago when freezing rain killed large forest areas and next year was massive windstorm, it took years to just gather all the wood that was just lying around

2) not much since slovenia has 60% forest coverage and it's estimated 25% of all heating in slovenia is firewood already, and 40% of slovenia uses firewood partially (very few use firewood to heat water so I'm giving both figures)

My family has forest workers who get partially paid in firewood.

I use firewood and have multiple wood stoves ready as backup. You buy forested land and there you get your firewood. You can also buy a chainsaw and use it to cut down trees. Its 2022, even in eastern europe we have those.
