Why are chinese people like this? Every video I've seen of a chinese person, they're such bitter, mean, smug people. It's like all they know is hate. Is it because they live in such shit conditions that lowering others makes them feel like they're raising themselves?

Probably leftover from cultural revolution. You have to understand that bitter fuckers were boosted by the party at the time because they were the goons they used to lash out at whomever was the flavour of the month group to lash out against. Now this kind of behaviour, of trying to fuck your fellow man over, is almost a status symbol in China. Something that I guess is normal when it's commonly accepted that the system you live in sucks, but you're not supposed to change it. So constant exploits and emotional manipulation is the way to go.
