I'm so used to photorealistic russian romantic era paintings, when I saw this photography I initially thought it's a painting
 
could it be argued that it's not really realism but rather surrealism? those paintings (think of stuff shishkin painted for example) do look better than reality

My art textbook in high school mentioned something like hyperrealism, but I guess it had more of a critical flavour. If your photo was really a painting, I guess it could be labeled as photo-realistic.
