I just realised it is relatively easy to make hot dogs at home. What are your favourite things to put on there? I really like pickles.

Strong mustard, fried onions and jalapenos.

I usually don't eat hot dogs, I like burgers more but literally the same this guy said >>137077 , but without the jalapeños because I get literal diarrhea if I eat spicy food.

You didn't know it takes \<5 minutes to warm up some sausages and stick them in a bread and pour some sauces all over?

there's some foods that are simple to make in bulk but hassle to do just for one person.
In particular with hotdogs making condiments just for one person, if you want to be fancy and not just buy a jar in store…
GermanyBernd2022-02-18 14:26:10 · 4yNo. 137087reply
Well I knew, but it wasn't on my mind. So I'm pretty happy I had the idea because now I really want to eat some hotdogs.

I learned this the hard way with hash browns. I've worked as cook so long prepping/making hash browns became second nature. When I had to grate the potatoes and and clarify the butter man, it was more work than actually work.

Was worth it, though.

Hasch brownies?
GermanyBernd2022-02-18 14:40:33 · 4yNo. 137090reply
A while ago I wanted to tell people on /int/ about Rösti and Kartoffelpuffer, which are German versions of hash browns. But then I discovered there is no exact definition what qualifies as Rösti and what as Kartoffelpuffer, and that there seems to be a hash brown continuum, like a dialect continuum, all over the German speaking countries.

I love them with apple sauce, with horseradish and salmon, with mushroom sauce...

I wonder what would the bavarians act like if I make a hot dog with a weise wurst
GermanyBernd2022-02-18 15:00:29 · 4yNo. 137092reply
Complain and call you a Prussian.

I say try it, but I don't think Weißwurst is good for hotdog tbh. Although a really good chef might do something interesting with sweet mustard, a sweeter bread, etc.

Oh wow one of the diners I worked at used to server them at Oktoberfest, we just called them German Fritters because American diners have their own language (pic related).

Murrican restaurant culture never ceases to amaze me.
To me the idea that someone would multiple times a week to go eat outside seems weird as fuck.
MexicoBernd2022-02-18 16:10:48 · 4yNo. 137102reply
yeah well as much as I know weisse wurst is eaten with sweet mustard so it would probably just be a bit odd because of the bread but not so bad I guess?

Go back to Mexico, Jaun!

It’s comfy if the restaurants are suited for it and you can afford it.
