Daily reminder that the only measure that had any impact on the spread of the virus was when they shut down borders during the spring of 2020. All for naught ofc because people with covid were all over already.
Govts. just really like mask mandates, lockdowns, restrictions, and vaccination because it makes them look like they are doing something and acting as responsible caretakers of those who entrusted them with that esteemed position of authority. In other role beyond keeping this facade these measures are useless.

factually incorrect, the measure that had impact was the fact that in spring of 2020, there was an actual lockdown. Not since spring of 2020 has there been a lockdown in Europe. Public transport open, bars open, workplaces open. Not a lockdown.
Meanwhile, whenever Australia enacted a lockdown, the measures worked, despite the only reason those measures had to be re-enacted being a previous failure in border shutdown system.
(The question you should ask is: is it worth it. Not, does it work. Because it evidently does. And denying it does makes you look stupid.)

What do you mean? A "lockdown" in which nothing is actually locked down is not a lockdown, simple as.
Also, no, masks are not useless, but if people are allowed to just take them off to go to a bar or restaurant, then there's no masking order, because under current clown non-lockdown non-measures, people are only required to wear masks where they are not infecting anyone, but in actual situations where contagion occurs, there is no masking order.
Vaccination is very useful, in current winter when there's no lockdown (and consequently much more contagion than last winter) healthcare system still hasn't collapsed.
Btw, real lockdown has been tried. It's called Australia, and it worked every time.
I love how China laughs at us. We are having a pandemic that has already caused deaths comparable to ww2 in many countries (if you compare percentage of people who died) and we are making this into a political battle. I literally can't fathom how my human rights have been violated even a single time during this pandemic.
