How do I end a friendship with a bad friend without hurting their feelings?.
United KingdomBernd2022-01-03 13:26:35 · 4yNo. 131275reply
Ghost them. If they're a bad friend, why care about their feelings?
MongoliaBernd2022-01-03 13:27:23 · 4yNo. 131276reply
I don’t know why...but I just do. (What is ghosting?)
GermanyBernd2022-01-03 13:29:01 · 4yNo. 131277reply
Ghosting is just not responding to them anymore online.
Doesn't really work with people you meet irl. (in real life)

Why is he/she a bad friend?
United KingdomBernd2022-01-03 13:29:29 · 4yNo. 131278reply
Cut contact with no explanation. Just don't contact them again. Vanish like a ghost.

If a person is bad to you, you owe them nothing. They will take advantage of you for as long as you allow it. In the end, your own happiness is the most important thing, or at least it should be.
MongoliaBernd2022-01-03 13:42:17 · 4yNo. 131282reply
I can’t do that, I have to tell them, it’s our way. Even if I could *He* always knocks on my door to hangout
Let’s just say a certain friend of mine is associating himself with the wrong group of people,
I tried to persuade him to stop, however he kinda seemed happy even when the activities they’re doing are wrong. Am I allowed to prevent someone from their enjoyment, regardless of immorality?. Or should I’ve been a supporting a friend and perhaps socialize with the negative residents? I don’t know what’s right anymore.
GermanyBernd2022-01-03 13:47:37 · 4yNo. 131284reply
is he smoking crack?
try stopping him again, he doesn't know what he's doing

is he smoking weed?
let him, he won't die
United KingdomBernd2022-01-03 13:48:47 · 4yNo. 131285reply
Well, you certainly should not change your morality or personality for someone else. Definitely not worth bringing more negativity in your life. It seems you've told him what you think, but he doesn't really care enough to stop. So the foundation of the friendship is weak.

In the end, it's up to you. You can always slowly disassociate yourself from him. This is what I did with my old friend from school. I was in a similar situation to you. He socialised with bad people, and he became worse and worse. It also felt to me like he kept me around because he couldn't handle being alone. It was a bad friendship, so I just responded to him less and less, and then the "friendship" withered away on its own.
MongoliaBernd2022-01-03 13:52:33 · 4yNo. 131286reply
He indeed does know what he’s doing, everybody in Mongolia knows the side effects to smoking, it’s even advertised on TV, I just wish I knew he had this habit before it was too late

That’s not the only problem. As his friend he wants me to join him...I don’t want to.
MongoliaBernd2022-01-03 13:54:42 · 4yNo. 131287reply
I don’t have that much friends, it’s hard finding people my age. And he and I have been friends since childhood. But you’re right this ceases tomorrow.
GermanyBernd2022-01-03 14:00:49 · 4yNo. 131288reply
>smoking
cigarettes? or what

>he and I have been friends since childhood
You don't need to do the same as him to stay friends.
You won't find new childhood friends, imo it's worth to keep in touch.

Trust me, I've been there. (I was the idiot trying to convince my childhood friend to smoke some joints thought lol)

Cigarettes, I don’t think there is anything such as weed in my country. I believe it’s illegal.
United KingdomBernd2022-01-03 14:04:55 · 4yNo. 131290reply
How old are you? Cigarettes isn't such a big deal I guess, but don't be pressured. I was pressured into smoking in school, and it's really really hard to quit. And in my opinion it's more about respect. As a friend, he should respect your views and boundaries, and not pressure you. If he ignores, then he doesn't respect you.

Thanks for the pep talk, and I appreciate everyone’s concern, but I’d rather not say about my age though.
United KingdomBernd2022-01-03 14:29:56 · 4yNo. 131292reply
Understandable. Hope it works out for you.
HungaryBernd2022-01-03 16:52:57 · 4yNo. 131310reply
Do it straight like an arrow.
1. Tell him what you think is wrong with him.
2. Tell him you won't hang out with him anymore.

having read this thread up until now I'd say a convenient line you can draw is no smoking when you're around
say that smoke bothers you too much and you don't want to smell of it when you get home (it really gets into your clothes even if you're just next to a smoker)

What's the drug, alcohol and cigarette scene like in Mongolia?
MongoliaBernd2022-01-04 05:24:32 · 4yNo. 131344reply
Wh-why would you like to know?
CanadaBernd2022-01-04 05:30:50 · 4yNo. 131345reply
Because Mongolians are rarer than a tulip in winter and I'm curious of your cultural insight.
MongoliaBernd2022-01-04 05:34:19 · 4yNo. 131346reply
Rare?, are you curious enough to....visit?
Also about the drugs and alcohols there are plenty enough to cause trouble.

I'd love to visit Mongolia and ride a horse around and hang out with locals. wud b laff

I recommend visiting during summer, cause that is the most fun season.
Unless you’re more of a winter person.

What's there to do during the winter? I would gladly visit during the summer if I could.
