There are contradictory scientific papers posing either "due to human activity" or "due to natural cycles" point of view on climatic change so we can't really get well grounded opinion on this topic. Unless you commit yourself into real research which nobody actually gonna do.

To make things worse highly developed countries can afford inefficient green energy so they could impose restrictions on particular foreign businesses or even whole countries which don't comply with green standards. Banning those countries from selling their products in domestic markets and so on.

It's easy to explain to general public why particular countries are bad and why they deserve to potentially be eliminated (new fascism). Because they're polluting our planet.

Meanwhile if there are global warming the arctic ice would be melted and that'd allow for new maritime trade routes via arctic instead of indian ocean trade route. From China to Europe via arctics.
