I'm procrastinating the creation of a new cv.

Is it worth signing up to linkedin? I'm skeptical of all forms of social networking to obtain a job but it could be worth trading data for employment.

when it comes to looking for jobs its best to sign up everywhere.

idk
I never used it actively (and I heard it's horrible for trying to find anything) but I feel like employers might try look you up there even if you contact them in a traditional way
GermanyBernd2021-12-15 20:54:26 · 5yNo. 129680reply
It certainly can't hurt and it isn't too much of a hassle to set up.

That depends on the field that you work in. In my job the technical manager decides on who to invite and who gets a job. And these guys certainly don't have the time to spy after applicants on the interwebs. Only HR guys have time to do stuff like that. But I doubt they would sort you out if they don't find you online as long as the documents that you send them are fine.

I definitely agree and stretching the truth never hurts if the company can't verify your claims without a dna test.

I may as well toss in a disability as well and claim I'm one of those pronoun users. What kinda pronoun stand should I take?

"It". "Legion" for plural.

Don’t procrastinate. Get going and get a nice life. We believe in you.

If the task seems too daunting, break it down into small steps. Also google how to write a cv and how to stop procrastinating.

It's a bad habit. And that it's more tiresome dealing with average life around others in any work environment prioritizing socialization moreover than strength and skill.
I think I've been privileged with the work I've selected thus far, except its winter and the only jobs available now are built around a visible hierarchy.

Presuming that modern corporations and employers are used to globohomo minimalist design, I'll approach this resume with the same mentality: Simple, clean and straight to the point, which saves a lot of time styling a resume to supposedly "stand out" from the crowd. I could be wrong, and I likely am, as my preferred style of getting a job is to spam my resume, then talk to the employer or just show up and get an immediate job, no human resources meddling involved.
Now the other issue is getting a cheap phone contract. Prices haven't improved here a single bit. It was nice in NZ that I could deposit $ 5-10 every three months instead of $15 monthly. This will likely discourage some employers until I get a phone number.

Before I chime in: What kind of jobs are you applying to anyway?
CanadaBernd2021-12-16 19:54:09 · 5yNo. 129775reply
Everything. Then once I get a menial beastly job in some service sector, I'll start a refinement of jobs I can get into, all in the sake of fun. I don't need to work but this keeps me occupied.
GermanyBernd2021-12-16 19:58:41 · 5yNo. 129776reply
Simple clean and straight to the point sounds good. I made my last resume with Libreoffice in such a manner. Just make sure it has the necessary info and looks nice. There are also good guides online, at least for German business practices.
Idk if having design skills and making it look really fancy will help, if you have the skills or interest work on that, but maybe just get a nice and simple cv first, send it out to 3-10 places and then improve it further, refine your design skills while waiting for replies.
CanadaBernd2021-12-16 20:04:11 · 5yNo. 129777reply
I think my biggest drawback is a lack of a current phone number.
And libreoffice is a lot better than what I remember it to be. It's quite intuitive to use and isn't so much of a slog like openoffice was.
I'm also going to stretch out the amount of time I worked at some jobs huehahueahueahue.
