I can't extract more than two to four hours of sleep at a time. Before I arrived to Canada it was five to six hours if I was unemployed and eight if I was employed.
It's just family related stress plus unfamiliar sleeping place. BTW do you know that people sleep in 1.5 hours "bursts" of "shallow sleep - deep sleep - shallow sleep"? If you would wake up in a shallow sleep phase you would feel ok even if you were sleeping for three hours. So just try to combine 8-9 hours of sleep throughout the day with several 1.5-3 hours sleeping sessions.
