It's just a talking point that misleads people. Yes, medical trials are still ongoing. That sounds scary, as if it isn't tested already.

In reality, medication that has been around and approved for decades, for longer than my parents have been alive, is still in medical trials and is still being evaluated.

 

The vaccine trials have been long enough to say with confidence that they are safe. Millions of people have taken them for over a year now and there haven't been any big surprises. Some more rare side effects have been discovered, but they're still unlikely and not that bad compared to the real illness.

I don't feel compromised by the mandates preventing me from entering social venues, restaurants or other commercial domiciles given I never procured their services. This impacts those industries with the general population, and its their choice to partake in them as they please. A big part of it is the push back against the sweeping rules barring Canadians like myself from travelling internally or internationally. I think that's a dangerous precedent that will have lasting consequences in the decades to come. I've accepted my fate that I'm to remain in this province unable to drive for the next year and the vaccine doesn't impede insurance rates or eligibility.

I think there's far more fear from catching the virus than the actual virus itself. If I'm to vote with my health, I may as well go with a protein based vaccine that's taken 2x as long to be approved by health Canada than the emergency vaccines. Pfizer, moderna, astrazeneca have my regards of being lifesavers for our old and unhealthy.

Well whatever works for you is good. I'm still firm with the belief that the young should develop a natural immunity because the virus is here to stay. With such a low mortality rate, its still picking off the diseased and compromised regardless if they're vaccinated or not. Maybe we should focus on fixing our system before it collapses? Logistics seem to be bungled right now and aren't improving, while the cost of living is creeping steadily higher and further burdening the taxpayer to pay those who see it better to live on the dole than go to work.
