They were good threads and often detailed the migration patterns of specific groups.
What I really enjoyed was the discussion of lesser known ethnic groups we'd normally never hear in the news or encounter in real life. Sadly the fringe groups eventually moved in to abuse the information provided and generated huge division within the haplogroup posters.
You've got to toughen up a bit, kc wasn't always a full blown nazi or alt-right board with condescending views of others, that was a minority that moved from 4chon and eventually the dregs of /pol/ moved in as users started to bridge the boards from upstream culture.

Also: I've been on kc since 2009 and fell down the rabbit hole of believing black people are inherently lower iq and something genocidal needs to be done about it many years ago. I saw the errors in that rather quickly but it is just a stupid thing we shouldn't encourage.
I'm also not saying haplogroup discussions are wrong in itself, it just seems to me that many posters are just annoying racists and those that seem more knowledgeable and measured also don't really have a good understanding of how this science can tell us about ancient migration patterns and just make stuff up or come to wrong conclusions. I've seen some actual professors in the field talk about this on youtube and it is much more nuanced than what we see in the average kc haplogroup discussion. Usually, it's just "hey look at this graph that proves slavs are niggers" or some shit.
