>Family rescued from Afghanistan cooks mushrooms picked in refugee camp – two children die
>In Poland two children, aged 5 and 6, died from mushroom poisoning.
>The children belonged to a family just rescued from Afghanistan.

Why is Poland being Nazi again?

Uh, that's like one of the best known deadly shrooms.

It's actually funny since Agaricus mushrooms (whence the common champignon) look very much alike (except that they don't have the frill and have brown spore gills instead of white) and in places where deathcap doesn't grow, locals have no idea there's a lookalike mushroom that destroys your liver in ans week's.

still, that thing looks fucking toxic

i'd never pick up a mushroom in a forest at the other side of the planet even if it looks familiar

yeah

btw did you know that in a forest in rwanda, there grows a mushroom that looks exactly like the white version of the one in OP, except that it's perfectly edible?
mycologists actually went there to do a genetic analysis and it turns out it's a mutant (imported from australia most likely) that had its toxins knocked out by pure chance
