I have this random idea.

What if we add an ability to summorize/tldr any post by anyone, it will be something like hidden comments on post accessible by clicking on special area simmilar to edits history.

Maybe restrict it to only short comment.

Its can be used as sort of substitude to up/downboats but non-opionated one.

Or a short tldr for those who want to get a quick peek on whats the thread is about or where it derailed to.

What do you think?

On first come first summarize basis? Or others can add more sumz? And the post ends up with several sumz?

Short comments as replies (or short replies as comments?) can be added to the thread already. So if one posts he should do in the thread, that way his comment can be commented too, and actually add to the discussion, even if it's short. Better time spent.

People will reply to the sumz in the thread anyway.

But it is interesting for sure.

I've been thinking about those downsides, a short length restrictions is kinda compensate for them.

But im not sure.

Now as i think of it maybe it's not going to work, i have to think it thru again. Maybe length has to be really, really short for it to make any sense. Or it has to be more different to just another reply.
