I've been brainwashed by protestant culture to think alcohol is evil. In fact there's nothing wrong with moderate drinking. Binge drinking just gave me a really bad impression.

Forgot to mention binge drinking is the norm here, similar to the UK I think

Scandis have a fucked up relationship to alcohol. Either you become a complete degenerate on the weekends and get trashed in literally two hours with three liters of vodka, or you don't drink. Ever.

The German habit of drinking small amounts daily isn't ideal either, especially if you define "small" more generously, but I think it is closer to a reasonable drinking culture.

Follow the middle path and have a drink

Yes that's very true. And binge drinking is linked to death and car accidents of course.

Intelligent people tend to use alcohol and drugs to ease their brains

Alcohol is poison and bad for your body, but having your body and liver poisoned by it every day is actually less healthy than drinking during the weekend. Even one glass of alcohol will destroy the quality of your sleep and force your liver to work.

I acknowledge alcohol is a poison, but I use it anyways

I've been noticing that binge drinking as opposed to moderate regular drinking is common in places where alcohol is generally disapproved.
Extreme example: Iran.
Makes me wonder if disapproval of alcohol leads to lack of healthy drinking culture leads to binge drinking.

Spinach also contains poison and breathing oxygen is literally carcinogenic.

Please notice I haven't advocated for drinking alcohol every day, but casual and moderate enjoyment, like drinking a glass of wine with a meal or having one or two beers on a relaxed friday evening is probably the healthiest way to enjoy it if you don't want to go fully abstinent. Some doctors even recommend small doses of red wine, or so I've heard.

But as I said: Scandis only know extremes when it comes to alcohol and you're another proof.

Even a small amount of alcohol is poison for you, it is not healthy do drink even one per day, it's the opposite. Alcohol is literal poison and that will activate your liver to purge it from your body. There is not a single health benefit to gain from alcohol.

Having one or two during Friday once a week is healthier than binge drinking on Friday or getting that toxin into your body every day. Abstaining is the healthiest choice naturally, but that would be boring.

>Alcohol is literal poison and that will activate your liver to purge it from your body.
Fructose does the same; if you don't burn it immediately the liver will start purging it.
Is fruit literal poison too?

There are no health benefits to gain from consuming fructose.

Being around a culture that pressures you to indulge in poison that inhibits clear and conscious thought processes becomes tedious and quickly irritates me where as before I could tolerate these people if I too were on their same wavelength.

It is not the alcohol that provides it, it is the grape that is the source. Alcohol is just poison that comes along the healthy part, reducing the total health benefit of such a mixture. This is the key difference. The alcohol itself brings nothing but negative effects on your physical and mental health. Contrary to popular beliefe, alcohol causes stress and anxiety instead of reducing it.
SloveniaBernd2021-08-19 23:03:00 · 5yNo. 120578reply
But grape juice contains enormous amounts of fructose, which is, as we have demonstrated, equally poisonous.
I think I will pick wine between the two.
FinlandBernd2021-08-19 23:04:52 · 5yNo. 120581reply

No we have not, fructose is harmful only in large quantities, but bares 0 health benefits. Alcohol has negative already in small doses and brings 0 health benefits.

according to your argument why alcohol is a poison, fructose is equally a poison
