I am probably going to feel bad while eating it thinking about north atlantic minke whales.

Bug report: "Edit" doesn't work and it just produces a duplicate post. I meant to change "livig" to "livid".

Since the frontpage doesn't show me which boards exist (another bug) and I can't memorize all the boards, I don't always remember that they go to /o/ and just post about them somewhere else. Sorry.

The species is stable at around 100 000

It's cheap as fugg for some reason maybe for propaganda reasons.

I imagine the sad part is whales are smarter than a lot of humans (swedes for example) and there's no painless way to kill a whale.

I'm not indifferent towards it. But it doesn't factor into my decision whether I would eat it or not. If given the choice, I would want it to suffer the least possible way, but if it has to, so be it.

I didn't see the price pr kg. It was 75 NOK for 2 decent steaks.
GermanyBernd2021-07-28 18:04:26 · 5yNo. 118367reply
That's a better price than I get for beef on the Germany, where food is a lot cheaper than in Scandinavia. Is minke whale hunted commercially? I think in Iceland they just kill them sometimes for research and then sell the meat in order not to waste it. I also heard they stopped hunted some whales because it isn't commercially viable anymore. I guess fewer and fewer people want to eat whale, which drives the prices down...
