Someone honk and waved to me as I was walking home from the grocery store.

I could not see who it was due to the sun in my eyes.

I have not had an opportunity to social contacts in the last 5 years.

Not sure who would try to get my attention.

My father once passed his parents in his car and didn't see them. They thought he ignored them on purpose and worried for a week why their own son would ignore them like that and wondered what they did wrong. It didn't cross their mind to just ask or think it wasn't on purpose. Kc tier people.

Honking is illegal under norwegian law and they would go to prison for 21 years.

By German law driving around without a clear destination is illegal, too.

Someone exiting the grocery store greeted me while I walked past him a many months ago. I am still wondering who it could have been.

Some French exchange student was sitting in the hallway waiting for DHL to pick her boxes up to be sent back to France where she was moving back. I had passed her earlier and talked to her, she had been sitting there for 4 hours and counting, DHL had sais they would pick up the packages between 09:00-18:00. I live one stair up directly next to where she was sitting and told her she can use my bathroom or anything if she needs since she lives up on the 6th floor, I guess she is gonna sit there the whole day.

No. It's 100% hypocrisy. Nobody will complain about you driving pointlessly around because the car is god in Germany. Using streets and fuel is our holy duty.

Sometimes random people honk at me but the culture in NZ is to wave and I've always enjoyed waving while hitch hiking to get a better chance of being picked up.
