I want my surname as a domain. Doesn't matter if .de, .eu, .com or .net
But they are all taken.
Two forward to another domain.
One is a IT company with a self signed ssl certificate.
And the last just doesn't load anything.

How likely do you think is it that one of the domains will just run out at some point?
Is there any way to be notified when that happens?

How expensive do you think it would be to buy it from them?

I imagine about 200€
t. had experience with such cases

That sounds very cheap. Would be nice if that works

maybe use the first letter of your first name? Like b-lauert.de
But yeah, maybe you can ask them to sell you the domain. Just set a hard limit for yourself and be smart about negotiating.

I once had a .gg domain for some gaming server who I made a website for and some americans wanted to buy it from me, I asked for 50 dollars but they didn't want to pay.

Make a whois look up
https://whois.domaintools.com/

However it doesn't seem to be too reliable, it shows krautchan.net as expired and available since ~2 weeks but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Yes I am using a domain like that for now but it really annoys me.

I also have my surname as a .gg domain but I had problems when sending mails from that domain. They .gg TLD doesn't seem to be that trusted.
Also people will find it strange if you tell them you mail address is [email protected]

Understandable. I don't really trust unusual TLDs, either and these new xyz TLDs and so on still seem weird to me. I'm not even that old...

I've had people think they sent me mails, who automatically put in gmail.
I don't have a gmail account.
