Because working holiday visas are a subclass of workers in this country. My extension hasn't been automatically granted since it was announced in December and I may lost my jerb on the 24th because of immigration and customs incompetence.

Why are you converting though OP?

Do you really have to convert in order to get into this social circle? In Germany there are, I'm not sure how to translate it best, culture clubs in most towns. Usually Turkish ones that organise barbecues and stuff like that. I'm sure they wouldn't be opposed to someone interested in their culture coming in.

I'm pretty keen to abuse religious prestige to get a stable very well paying job and to remain in the nz a bit longer until this pandemic blows over so I can travel to a cheap turd world and relax, play music and maybe do some opium. So yes, I'd need to convert to get these privileges.
