What app do you use? The official reddit app sucks. But maybe it's worth suffering through it for some time to then use maybe something like BaconReader or Sync which I'm using the pro version of for years now

(Or rather used to suck. Maybe it's better nowadays)

I don't use reddit, but it's not because I dislike it.

I simply don't understand how to use it and never felt the need to get into it.

Due to being heavily filtered (censored) by both politically aggressive moderators and the ability to downvote anything unpopular the site becomes shit. You will miss on tons of important information that would be required to form an educated opinion of the subject discussed, and will only be able to think that which is allowed.

People also self-censor themselves and are afraid of being downvoted, and some leave completely unposted or avoid the site.

The site might be good for something like showing a picture of a watch or shoes you just bought, but I don't think for much else.

I didnt even know many apps exist. I just downloaded the one with 50m downloads. It will be okay for now I guess.

One one hand you are right, this is what was nice about chans. On the other hand chans are full of school boys and schizos who think saying ''nigger' is revolutionary and edgy. Also too much wingnut ideology by stupid people thinking they know it all. There is no quality in chans anymore. So I find reddit stuff educative and I take most of it, as everything in life, with a pinch of salt and much critical thinking.

I used reddit to find pokemon go raids and friends.

 

 

Chans are very anonymous in the end, in many of them you don't even have a countryball or an ID. So yeah, shitposting and schizoposting is very common. However, people will also express themselves much more (the intelligent ones, bydlos will go on Facebook with all their info visible and reveal everything and are surprised when authorities come for them).

But for discussions sake, I think the optimal place is a good old forum, or Reddit could be it too, where people have an account and a reputation to uphold. It's really the downvotes and the moderation policies that kills the idea there. For a discussion to be held one shouldn't just be able to just ban or downvote the opponent and then declare themselves the winner. The discussion never then took place.

I don't really like reddit but since I am in to stock market I read wallstreet bets, option trading, and penny stocks. But most of the time wallstreetbets and I think I don't visit penny stocks.

Is there a point reading wsb? Its mostly shitposting about stocks, right?
