When having smalltalk with normal human beans I'm often asked things I don't want to answer. This includes asking what I studied at university or how much rent I have to pay for my apartment. Now that I don't have social interactions I'm wondering how I should react next time. Is "I don't want to talk about this" too assburger?

Some options:

>I don't want to talk about this
<may sound insecure

>Not gonna tell you
<beans may ask why

>Vague non answers, Joke answers (too much, Paper ball breeding)
<beans may not get the hint and keep asking

>I forgot/ I dont know
<may seem incompetent or loony

Stop thinking about what others will think this much

Why don't you want to talk about that?

tbh they aren't really interested anyway, it's just a way to facilitate conversation. If it's not something like crime scene cleaner which will perk up ears, they will just brush over it anyway.

My issue is that I know everytime where the conversation will go after I give an answer to certain questions and I have zero interest in leading these conversations.

-Reply honestly that you didn't go to uni. Only mental bydlo will try to bully you about this
-As for the rent question, you can say that you don't want to say, bitbyou should get your own apartment anyway

If you care so much, just lie lmao.
Think of some answers for the few standard questions and after answering the first, you just change the topic or ask a question yourself and lead the conversation.

lying is a dangerous habbit that can result in great cringe

I'm going to uni and have my own apartment.

huh? then why the reluctance to answer those questions?
GermanyBernd2021-03-10 22:27:33 · 5yNo. 111748reply
I have no desire to discuss housing prices. I have no desire to talk about my financial situation with other people. It's none of their business. Best case the conversation shifts topic and I have revealed private information for no benefit, worst case I will be judged for being too rich or privileged in the eyes of the other person.

I have no desire to explain for the 1000th time what the somewhat unusual university degree is that I got. I have no desire to explain for the 1000th time what kind of jobs I can get with that. And no, it won't even lead to discussions about things I'm interested in. Because I explain what the degree is, what I studied there and why I was interested in it and then people look surprised and confused and have zero to contribute to the discussion.

I feel like I'm being interrogated and viewed as a freak, with certain questions like these.

just say exactly that next conversation

Seems reasonable.

You have autism. If you don't want to make basic concessions to people to be social, you don't deserve to not be seen as a freak.

Aren't you busy terrorising your family right now?

You can totally offer to lead the conversation if you want. Say something interesting and who knows, maybe you'll have an engaging encounter with someone. Of course, it could go nowhere, but it seems to already be going nowhere. You have nothing to lose.
