All the big online communities I was part of are dead.
Doesn't matter what topic or how normie they were. None survived.

I wonder where all the people went and how the new generations replaced them. I tried joining discord communities but it's so uninvolved. Every day is different. New topics and new people.

demoscene is "officially dead" yet there are new things always and scene.org traffic is just the same as it used to be

all people are watching youtube now or tv (youtube is like 90% of all traffic in internet)

That's because you join big discord servers which you found on sites like disboard.
There are many small cozy Discord servers with only 10-20 people that stay the same for many years.

I am part of such a small server, it's basically around 25 people from Norway all the way down to some desert countries and we've been camping there since 2016, it is almost like a family.

Some I've even met irl, one in Sweden, another one randomly in Paris, and one american who worked here as a soldier at a bar near Frankfurt.

Sometimes I think it might be nice to become a youtuber or streamer with a niche interest. Some of those I follow seem to have nice online communities on their social medias.
