My theory is that it's apparently ability to not be traced means that it will be used to launder money. Money laundering is huge the entire world over and will continue to be for many years. So, why not try to buy some now, and then when Bitcoin becomes more and more regulated and rich people/criminals look to hide their money even further turn to xmr, boosting the price
