Abstaining from some or all animal-based products for the sake of preventing animal suffering is stupid. I'm not going to make sacrifices so that breeds of animals that only exist because of us can feel more happy, as if that does them any good. Doing it for the sake of sustainability is fair.

 

As for vegetarianism, it is pretty normal. A lot of women naturally don't care for meat. So they take it one step farther these days for moral reasons, whatever. I'll compromise. A lot of meat analogues are nutritious and tasty and not that expensive any more. Veganism is complete faggotry on the other hand. Imagine having to swallow pills and take supplements just to have a normal diet.

I think it's dumb to believe the way you do your shopping makes you high conscious, good and spiritual.

ideally you should eat a balanced mix of meat and vegetables, keeping in mind which food provides which vitamin/minerals, and which foods are high in fat/carbohydrates/protein. otherwise you will have to take supplements in order to make up a deficiency, you may get fat, or stagnate in growth

 

about animal products, there are a ton of things that involve an animal one way or another. the strangest one i know is the use of fishes' swimbladders (i think?) to filter out beer, i never expected that one. realistically, you can't avoid everything made with animal parts. i do like the idea of using the animal completely, some of it would go to waste otherwise

I heard an opinion the most devoted communists died in the war because they fought selflessly for the bright future and peace.
