Back to the topic at hand: We walked around and saw some really nice places in parks and the forest. I felt like she was pretty nervous and it certainly wasn't romantic, but we got along quite well so that was good.

[UPDATE] I will probably not try to pursue the OP grill. She is nice, but I don't see it going much further than a friendship. The thought of becoming more intimate with her is kinda awkward to me.

 

I have secured another Tinder date for thursday, though. It's risky, because on one of her pics she looks really hot to me, but not so much on the other one. In conversation she seems really cool, but I'm not sure if compatible with me. Still I have decided to just ask for a date almost right away instead of texting for long. It's to step out of my personal comfort zone and maybe try a new approach. I also find that tinder dating is a very long-winded endeavour with many waiting periods, so rushing along whenever possible seems more and more attractive to me.

Well, then you'll enjoy what happened today because it was considerably more than on other days. After the original date was cancelled by the grill due to corona (although I suspect she might have wanted to cancel for other reasons – I suggested we could chat on messenger instead and she didn't reply) I messaged three other matches and one replied rather quickly.

 

In an usual case of spontaneity, we agreed to go on a date today which I just returned from.

 

We went to a hip student café and sat on the grass in front of it, talking for about 1,5 hours, which I liked. We mainly talked about our times studying abroad, forestry, politics in South and North America and our tea and coffee drinking habits. I'm not sure if it was an ideal date if my goal was fugging her, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to see her again, both as a romantic date and as just friends would be nice. She seemed to have had a good time and said we should text again, but also said she might be pretty busy in the upcoming weeks. We'll see if she means it. I have had other dates that I think went well but then the grill said she doesn't want to meet again.

 

In terms of looks and type she was like was to be expected from the profile. Lookswise a blend between girl next door and slightly hippie student, no top model tier features or breathtaking beauty, but no flaws except a piercing I'm not really a fan of. Above average in my eyes for sure, but maybe not for everyone else. Really talkative and with lots of topics to contribute to the conversation, which was also very nice.
