Three episodes in and they already do the reveal and the big bad guy is just a pharma corp executive with an extinction rebellion fetish instead of a shadow cabal of people trying to bring humanity back into order with the natural world.

At least Arby is still autistic.

I wish I still had my copy of the original but I think I deleted it from my drives long ago.

Also I don't think it is a sterilization 'virus' this time, I think the burgers were too dumb to understand that is a lot more devastating than 'le big scary flu'

The brain drain in this country is remarkable... We don't produce anything of quality anymore, can't even copy a perfectly good show correctly anymore.

Murican big money remakes of Bri'ish television is always disgusting as fuck. Not only do they distort the original message, they always try to milk it to the max. Fuck big telemonkey I say.

We used to create great things... how everything has gone so wrong so quick.

Watching utopia again has really got my neurons firing.

I think many of us are in agreement that Covid was man made, either by the Chinese or another entity operating freely in China allowed access to materials and logistics.

What I’m starting to think is this was a test run bio weapon. Not designed to be deadly per se but designed to be virulent and most of all frightening, constantly mutating and keeping people on edge. I believe at first incorrect information was given out on the orders of whoever is trying to test these weapons to make the population complacent, allowing the virus to spread in silence. Then the measures now are a test of how far and which groups will submit to authority under such a circumstance.

All in all I believe this virus was just a test to see how and where to push the systems in place, find weaknesses like healthcare systems inability to cope, political, social divides to exploit, how far to push authoritarian rule and who is most susceptible, all good analytics to anyone really who wants to exploit weaknesses in the worlds systems for when they implement their final product.

Rate how schizo I am?

It's possible. The data is definitely gonna be useful to a whole lotta people. But I think Occam's razor applied here. Keep an open mind but wait for the evidence.

The one thing I kind of like even though it is very cringy about this one is that this time they have Mr. Rabbit have a son and he acts as the spin doctor / false flag pro and is like a creepy zuckerberg clone

The horror of wearing masks and hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere. What a nightmare.

I honestly just want to go back to pre March 2020. Is that so much to ask? I get it, pandemic has scared the underclasses into their new life. I still don’t like it. I don’t deny the flu, I just don’t like the world it has led to.

I don't see the problem, unless you suffered some serious financial setback. Everyone's keeping their distance at work, small talk's way more sporadic, supervision is down, masks keep me from forcing myself into a "public" mood, interacting with the unwashed masses is limited enough that I barely realize they exist. It's pretty much the one time working has felt comfy.
Honestly I'm pretty happy with these changes. The only issues I have are non-pandemic related, which are their own can of worms.

The one very very good thing about all this is I can ignore my supervisor and still appears as if I’m working to my boss. While my boss is very laid back and manages things best, she needs everything to follow a very very very strict system or else her heda breaks.

The violence was an important element of the original. It was abrupt and unflinching. The remake signposts the violence and so it loses its impact.

I hope the remake goes off in an original direction tbh, because the facsimile approach has been underwhelming so far. Cast is decent, though.
