Today: Monster Energy Ultra Paradise

Tastes like apple flavoured candy, additional picture related.
Artificial sweetener fairly noticeable.
Would not consume again.

FinlandBernd2020-09-05 13:40:16 · 6yNo. 101276reply
We don't have a healthy drinking culture, binge drinking is encouraged socially. Much easier to stay away altogether.
GermanyBernd2020-09-05 14:07:09 · 6yNo. 101277reply
Why not sleep?

Understandable. But what if you go to a nice restaurant, for example and there is a glass of wine offered with the meal and no real opportunity to binge drink. Why decline then?
FinlandBernd2020-09-05 14:16:04 · 6yNo. 101278reply
I declined the glass of champagne at my high school matriculation party. The social pressure to drink is so immense that when people know you once slipped, they'll be practically pouring it down your throat the next chance. My solution is to larp as christian good boi despite not being at all religious and even leaving the state church at 18yo.

Also, I honestly don't like what alcohol does to the brain, like tobacco and drugs (other than caffeine). Almost nobody questions you if you confess to never smoking or refuse an offered joint at a get-together, alcohol is the sacred cow.

>The social pressure to drink is so immense that when people know you once slipped, they'll be practically pouring it down your throat the next chance.
Understandable.
I also knew people in the village where I grew up that would take every opportunity to force a bottle of beer in your hand and act personally offended if you declined.

>Also, I honestly don't like what alcohol does to the brain, like tobacco and drugs (other than caffeine).
I honestly think you do have a bias here. Caffeine is not without any effects, but obviously safe in normal doses. The same goes for alcohol. There is nothing wrong with one glass of wine per week. But obviously most drinking cultures exceed the safe levels. Just don't make the mistake of black and white thinking.
FinlandBernd2020-09-05 15:04:18 · 6yNo. 101281reply
Black and whiteness is hard to avoid when the opinions are so polarized, we're in the same situation as US with it's politics or religion in regards to alcohol. And personal experience: the weird looks and awkward silence when declining the damn booze at social gatherings, really makes you emotional/reactive about the subject.

But caffeine is nice, legal and the addiction is not life-ruining. Though being an anxious wreck it's not that good for me either...
GermanyBernd2020-09-05 15:07:26 · 6yNo. 101283reply
Personally I never drink coffee because it always made my stomach hurt when I tried it. I only drink tea and sometimes these iced latte macchiatos, but I never notice any effects from caffeine.

COFFEE IS OF BAD

At some part of your life you will be likely offered COFFEE. The one offering might be a friend, stranger or even your own family. Many have moved to coffee from lighter substances like tea. When you are offered coffee say always bravely "No". Many innocent youth have fallen under the devilish influence of coffee.

I think V's are also exported to Australia. At the current time, I cannot confirm this suspicion or wish to Google it, signalling how lazy I currently am despite 10 cups of tea.

Can't say I've seen Battery. There's a lot of Cocacola subsidiaries present, which aren't as good as Vs.

Today: Monster Energy Rehab (Orange)

Very easily summarized, it tastes almost exactly like generic peach flavoured Ice Tea.
Evokes nostalgia for me as I consumed such in significant quantities during school.
It lacks carbonation, which makes it a rather relaxed drinking experience.

Would consume again, but it should be noted that generic Ice Tea can provide much better value if one is not particularly interested in the heightend caffeine content.

Today: Monster Energy Mango Loco

Yes, the taste of mango juice is present, as well as a hint towards passion fruit.
Of course, the list of ingredients includes many more fruit juices, those are however not so discernible as individual flavours.

It lacks the thickness and intensity of mango juice, which is to be expected considering its energy drink nature. Regardless, it gave me the impression of merely drinking diluted juice, with additional sugar.
In summary, it is certainly enjoyable but lacks identity. Mango yes, Loco no.

Would consume again if offered, would not seek out in stores.

Artificial strawberry flavor is surprisingly tasty.

Is there a caffeinated aloe vera drink? Aloe drinks are my favorite but they are marketed with "all-natural" slogans, so no added caffeine :(

That sounds amazing. I tried a non-carbonated melon drink in the middle of nowhere in Cambodia. It was imported somewhere from Thailand, and had a delicious aftertaste that was heavenly.

Aloe is amazing, the freshness and the pulp you can chew and suck on. It was pure luck I about a decade ago ran into this little tea and beverage shop in Helsinki, they imported all kinds strange drinks from abroad, mostly Thailand though. Also the Japs have a thing for melon-drinks, might be the whole of Asia.

Today: Monster Energy Ultra Violet

Like Ultra Paradise it reminds me of gummi candy, this time its harder for me to find
an accurate comparison, but I think these worms are pretty close.
The artificial sweetener is noticable, but severely less offensive in this drink compared to Paradise.

Would rather consume saure glühwürmchen.

Additional Information: I have concluded that the artificial sweetener of the Monster Energy Ultra series causes me digestive troubles

Somehow the stores I frequent manage to stock many Monster varieties without having
the original available

It is. Cambodia had a bunch of great middle of the ground white people spiced foods and desserts compared to Thailands debilishly spicy foods.

Today: Monster Energy Pacific Punch

The marketing blurb on the can claims this drink to be "less sweet", I disagree.
I cannot find a fitting comparison, it appears as a rather abstract mix of fruit flavors.
Still, it is a pleasing flavor, much fuller and rounded than Mango Loco.

Would consume again.

the reason its been only Monster so far is that it was on sale at a local store last week, so I bought a bunch. I do not buy energy drinks at regular prices, so it will depend on the sales.
But I can tell you something from recent memory about Rockstar Berry Blast:
