I’m planning to buy the following this fall:
- Särmä assault pack for hiking
- Dr Martens Pascal boots for being fashionable on walks through the city
R8

> Dr Martens
Uncomfortable and pointless. Being a eurogarch you sure must be able to invest into Solovair or Red Wing.
Just don't buy Martens.

Dr. Martens are comfy and stylish as fuck. Well done, Bernd.
United StatesBernd2020-09-03 08:40:31 · 6yNo. 100891reply
Like 90% of martens are made in china now and the quality has tanked. The OEM in britain that used to make all their boots are still making the exact same boots without any doc marten labeling.
look for solovair.

N-nazi! :O

why not Solovair?
GermanyBernd2020-09-03 12:00:36 · 6yNo. 100902reply
Afaik Solovair makes the equivalent of a Dr Martens 1460, which is too wide for my feet. Dr Martens makes a "Girl version" that is narrower but still available in size 9. I've had those before, they fit well and survived about three years of constant wearing.

No opinions on Särmä?
FinlandBernd2020-09-03 13:01:27 · 6yNo. 100907reply
Are you an skinhead?

I spoiled myself and bought Pentel 81% recycled plastic brush pens today.

I have short hair, but I'm not really a skinhead.

Are you an artist?
FinlandBernd2020-09-03 13:13:28 · 6yNo. 100911reply
No, not an artist. I just want to spice up my bullet journal with handlettering.
United StatesBernd2020-09-03 13:51:32 · 6yNo. 100932reply
yea docs are beyond shit in terms of boots
theyre literally a meme in boot form
might as well be sneakers
GermanyBernd2020-09-03 13:56:38 · 6yNo. 100935reply
People are always screeching about this, but in their price range they are normal boots.
United StatesBernd2020-09-03 14:04:08 · 6yNo. 100937reply
no man
they fail in every respect as boots
no traction, no durability, and even though theyre seen as a more casual boot, theyre much more uncomfortable than most regular boots that would actually hold up
youd unironically be better off buying nicer high top sneakers
its basically the same thing
GermanyBernd2020-09-03 15:19:09 · 6yNo. 100944reply
Yeah and because Mercedes Benz quality isn't what it used to be you should buy a bike.
RussiaBernd2020-09-03 15:21:24 · 6yNo. 100945reply
Exactly. The moment a company betrays their quality standards, you switch.
New ZealandBernd2020-09-03 16:06:49 · 6yNo. 100947reply
Go for light boots
t.solomon 450g boots
GermanyBernd2020-09-03 17:32:17 · 6yNo. 100967reply
But what other company offers similar looking boots for narrow feet?
GermanyBernd2020-09-06 00:16:06 · 6yNo. 101362reply
Have any Bernds ever ordered from Varusteleka? They seem almost too good to be true.
FinlandBernd2020-09-06 05:22:51 · 6yNo. 101408reply
Yes, I live nearby to their brick and mortar store. Visit every 2 months or when I want a tin of caffeine chocolate. Trustworthy and good business, is there anything else you want to know?
GermanyBernd2020-09-06 11:50:53 · 6yNo. 101420reply
I like Scho-Ka-Kola very much, too. It's surprisingly hard to get even in Germany. If I see that a store has it, I always make sure to buy a tin.

I'm mainly wondering if Särmä products really are that good quality for such a fair price.

I never ever, looks like a chocolate in metal casing is it a garch tier expensive?

oh its rather cheap actually
RussiaBernd2020-09-06 15:08:21 · 6yNo. 101448reply
Taste-wise it is beyond garch, especially the blue one.
GermanyBernd2020-09-06 15:23:27 · 6yNo. 101453reply
Compared to other chocolates I can get in Germany, it is quite expensive. But it isn't meant to be eaten in the same quantity, as one bit has the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee or something. It's meant to be eaten bit by bit on hikes or when wörking.
RussiaBernd2020-09-06 17:25:02 · 6yNo. 101467reply
>one bit has the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee
GermanyBernd2020-09-06 18:47:31 · 6yNo. 101470reply
It's not actually that much. I just checked
>A container of 100 grams has a caffeine content of about 200 mg. Since each container contains 16 individual embossed portions, each portion has a caffeine content of about 12.5 mg caffeine.
>Current containers indicate "6 portions of Scho-Ka-Kola contain about as much caffeine as a cup of coffee". This amount corresponds with about the caffeine content of energy drinks (80 mg per 250 ml).

Why has nobody given a better alternative to the Dr Martens boot if everyone is in agreement that they are bad quality?
FinlandBernd2020-09-09 17:21:22 · 6yNo. 101666reply
I've only heard good things about Särmä but being Finn I might be biased. Sells like hotcakes in the US apparently.

More like BASED.
Also: Nice satanic get.
GermanyBernd2020-09-09 18:52:19 · 6yNo. 101673reply
I'll give them a shot with the backpack and merino wool shirts in the fall. German outdoor stores have similar stuff for a much higher price and with designs I don't like.
GermanyBernd2020-09-16 20:09:22 · 6yNo. 102255reply
Why?
Also: Can someone name an alternative for Dr Martens for people with narrow feet or is everyone content just having shittalked DMs and calling me an idiot for wanting to buy them?
United StatesBernd2020-09-17 03:02:11 · 6yNo. 102324reply
I have a pair of waxi South African boots and Swiss boots I bought from Ivan off komandostore. I don’t wear boots that much unless they are my CAT work boots
GermanyBernd2020-09-17 16:58:57 · 6yNo. 102379reply
Work and military boots are not really an alternative imo. I just looked through the inventory of komandostore and wasn't impressed.
