Memory on my phone constantly keep running out. This is so strange to me given that even if I don't download anything it will still lose some storage space overtime. I clear caches of very few apps that are installed, delete old pictures but this is only a timely measure. Curently I found out that it creeps slower when I have less than 500 mb left, there is a warning that not a lot of memory is left, so I keep it this way. If I will clear more storage space, then the phone will fill hundrends of megabytes in just a week or two until it 500 again.
I wonder what I can do. 6 gb filled with pictures, 6 gb filled with videos less than a hundred mb is music with documents this all is reasonable and manageable but the rest of storage space is occupied by enigmatic "other" taking up 20 gb. I found out that folder with thumbnails for pictures takes up 0,91 gb. I wonder how many other system folders store trash polluting memory of my phone.

Also I noticed that just transferring a couple of images from one folder to another can cause disproportional amount of storage to be consumed in the process.
The example is: I had about forty images with total weight of 11 mb that I had to sort into different folders. After I finished with sorting, I found that my phone lost about 45 mb of storage space. This is ridiculous.

Always happened to me with the shitty android phones, zero clue where the space goes. Like I had 64 gigs, where’d it all go?

Backup your phone to your PC, then wipe the phone, and restore it. You should get back a good deal of the momory that mysteriously disappeared.
This works for both iPhone and Android.
