Went to dogtor, got two appointments for vaccination (2. hepatitis and 3. covid shot) and told I strained my bicep tendon. No lifting for 1-2 weeks, cooling, stretches and taking some voltaren cream or something.

At the pharmacy I asked which kind of cream they have or recommend. Got offered something homeopathic and ruled that out. Then the choice was voltaren and something plant-based. I asked if "plant-based" had actual ingredients or just magic again. They said it wasn't homeopathic. I asked what the difference was. They said it is chemical vs plant-based. I asked for the price and voltaren was a few cents cheaper so I got that. Then the pharmacist said she would have also chosen voltaren but wanted to give two choices.

I dislike pharmacists like that.

Sounds like a good pharmacist.

Trying to sell homeopathy is something that makes a bad pharmacist.
Giving me a choice between "plant-based" and "chemical" to pander to hippie sentiments without explaining other reasons to make a decision between two products is also questionable.

There must be a large batch of alternative clientele she's catering to, so I don't see the issue if she's not pressing you to purchase the treatment.

The issue is that pharmacists are supposed to be specialists who know about the products they're selling. That is why medicine can't be sold anywhere else in Germany. If they decide to also sell snake-oil, they use their priviledge and status as experts maliciously.

I understand your reasoning. Did you have beforehand knowledge of this homeopathic treatment being utter rubbish or are you imposing your belief that all homeopathic treatments are redundant?
GermanyBernd2021-11-16 21:28:10 · 5yNo. 127223reply
All homeopathic medicine is bullshit by definition. If you disagree, you either don't know what homeopathy is or you are just stupid. I'm sorry but there are no two ways about this.

Many people think homeopathy is just herbal medicine or something. That is wrong. It is 100% bs to make a profit, based on two principles that literally cannot work ever.

It's possible a placebo could have worked better than your medical alternative.

Some people are not susceptible for facts and logic. I have a hard time understanding this myself, but it has become quite clear to me over the years, especially during the pandemic.

Literally no because all medicine is tested against a placebo.
