Pretty much. Its often made poorly because of fast food joints prioritizing decadence over a quality meal. When I was an alcohol, it was a good meal that lit up my taste buds and generally quite comforting buts Its really hard to find good poutine outside of Eastern Canada. Once it crosses to western canada, the gravy is often too thin or lacking, the fries are soggy and the curds generally don't match or they use the wrong cheese.
But were you drunk beforehand? Did they use proper cheese curds and have the right gravy sauce? Its essentially whores food too, as insinuated in the name and became a staple of workers due to its cheap, easily stored ingredients that could be provided year round. But shame on them, poutine is hard to fuck up yet so many restaurants bungle it.
