i saw that movie about meat production and it was horrible so i sorta understand that if that is the moto, maybe some day i will even consider abandoning meat.
Idk about that, but I'm trying to count calories and proteins in my diet right now and when I don't have meat I have to be really careful to get enough protein. Almost impossible without animal products for me. I imagine vegans have to eat shitloads of weird foods like lentils or protein powder or just not have enough protein.
I can understand and accept many arguments for veganism/vegetarianism: Eco-friendliness, health reasons, etc. But those aren't arguments to NEVER eat animal products imo. Only being opposed to eating animals because you see them having the same rights as humans are. And that is mental illness imo.
I dont know if you can get enough vitamins etc. to stay healthy.
I mean i heard stories about children growing up vegan and they are pretty much years behind the normal growth rate of a child their age. You dont need meat every day but once or twice a week is necessary i think.
From what I’ve read it is possible to be healthy long term on a began diet, but you basically need to be a nutrition scientist and put in a crazy amount of effort. Idk about children, though. I wouldn’t risk it. My own health comes first.
In terms of saving money vegetarian is really the way to go. Some veggies/potatos with fried eggs is one of my go to meals. Also: Preparing meat often takes a bit more effort.
I would eat vat grown meat or go full vegan if it was possible. Unfortunately I can not feed myself and depend on either my mother's cooking or the uni cafeteria for sustenance.
Once corona is over at some point and I can move out, I will start by learning basic cooking skills and then jump right into to vegan bug-eater eco-fascist.
I think meat has become for me a special treat rather than something which should be consumed with every meal. That way there is less waste. I save all the offcuts to use in soups and things. I think meat has become too mundane. There is less demand for things like offal because everyone wants their perfect cut of chicken breast or beef steak.
